The City of Your Final Destination
The phrase 'Merchant Ivory' has become so synonymous with art-house filmmaking that it is easy to forget that there were two actual people behind it, producer Ismail Merchant and director James Ivory. Together, they made more than 20 films over more than 40 years. This marks the first for Ivory since Merchant died in 2005. The City of Your Final Destination stars Anthony Hopkins and Laura Linney and the screenplay for the romantic drama was written by longtime Merchant Ivory collaborator Ruth Prawer Jhabvala.

Monthly Film Series tickets are discounted for AIFF members and available now at the Varsity Theatre Box Office. The screenings continue a series of Southern Oregon premieres and encores of film festival favorites showing on selected Fridays through November at the Varsity. The screenings will begin a theatrical run of the film and benefit the non-profit AIFF thanks to Coming Attractions Theatres. |
